What happens if I ask you a question the other 11 months of the year?

Answer a question any month besides March?  Perish the thought.

Got a question?  Ask it here.

Until SPLF, I had never met Skip Chasey. And while I still know very little about him, what I do know is that a lot of people in the scene do respect him for all that he has brought to the table. Unfortunately, from what I took away from his keynote speech on Sunday, the table that he sits at doesn't include people like me. His speech spoke of "us" vs "them," segmenting what is supposed to be a "community" even farther for me, and I don't much believe in the idea of "community" within the scene. I felt marginalized, spoken down to as well as if somehow I wasn't good enough or didn't deserve to be there because how I got "here" is different from how he did. The following is my response. It's in the form of a rant. Why?

because I rant so good ...  )

Not had enough of my ranting yet?  Okay.  We can fix that.  Check my other rants out here and here.  Or, ya know, here.
